Head of Media Affairs (Qatarization)

About the role

The Head of Media Affairs will lead the Ministry of Public Health’s information programmes, ensuring accurate and timely communication of the ministry’s activities, policies, and health announcements. This senior position is responsible for shaping the public image of the ministry through strategic media engagement and coordinated messaging.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all media communications, including articles, press kits, press releases, and other content initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with media representatives.
• Protect and promote the ministry’s image in a coordinated, consistent manner.
• Manage the flow of news to the media and ensure accurate communication.
• Approve messages for press releases, social media, speeches, media statements, op‑eds, and letters to the editor.
• Compose and edit press releases, organizational literature, and articles for internal and external use.
• Handle public requests and complaints, directing them to appropriate units and responding to inquiries.
• Gather public feedback on health service quality and recommend improvements.
• Facilitate effective communication with target audiences and promote mutual interaction.
• Provide training to the team on media affairs and public relations skills.
• Ensure compliance with ministry laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as required to meet organizational needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Media, Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Public Health is preferred.
• Relevant experience commensurate with senior‑level responsibilities, as defined by local HR regulations.
