Head of Physical Education (Whole School – Male)

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Physical Education (Whole School – Male) to lead the delivery of a fit‑for‑purpose curriculum at Nord Anglia International School Al Khor. The role involves overseeing the PE programme across all year groups, preparing students for UK National Curriculum, IGCSE and A‑Level examinations, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of the Physical Education curriculum for the whole school.
• Manage and develop a team of PE teachers, creating a supportive and challenging environment.
• Oversee resource allocation, curriculum planning, data analysis and performance tracking.
• Organise meetings, delegate tasks and produce teacher timetables.
• Drive continuous improvement through self‑evaluation and quality‑assurance feedback.
• Engage students, parents and the wider Nord Anglia community as an ambassador for the department.

Required profile

• Proven team‑leadership experience in secondary education.
• Ability to develop a vision for excellence and inspire staff and students.
• Receptive to feedback, adaptable to change and eager to share best practice.
• Strong communication and motivational skills.

Required skills

• University degree in Physical Education or related specialist subject.
• Qualified teacher status from a face‑to‑face programme.
• Extensive secondary‑level teaching experience and knowledge of the UK PE National Curriculum, IGCSE and A‑Level specifications.
• Curriculum planning, data analysis, performance tracking, resource management and timetable creation.
