Hook Up Assistant Superintendent

About the role

The Hook Up Assistant Superintendent supports the Hook‑up Superintendent in planning, coordinating and controlling hook‑up activities on various offshore vessels worldwide. This role ensures seamless interdisciplinary collaboration, safety compliance, and timely delivery of construction and commissioning tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and control execution of hook‑up activities performed by subcontractors or direct hires.
• Coordinate between discipline supervisors, Hook‑up engineering, and ensure material, equipment and tool availability.
• Represent the Hook‑up Superintendent in daily construction meetings with the client.
• Supervise foremen and supervisors across multiple construction disciplines.
• Manage shift‑level construction activities, SIMOPS, and crane operations (floatel, jack‑up, work boat, platform cranes).
• Maintain Permit‑to‑Work compliance, conduct Toolbox Talks and JSA as required.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, marine logistics and provide shift reports and handovers.
• Assist the Hook‑up Engineer with equipment and consumable tracking and ensure rigging gear is current.
• Apply Saipem QHSE policies, report incidents and promote HSE awareness.

Required profile

• Proven experience in offshore construction supervision and hook‑up coordination.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures, Permit‑to‑Work systems and crane operation management.
• Ability to liaise with multiple subcontractors and manage SIMOPS.
• Familiarity with pressure testing, flange management and commissioning activities.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
