HVAC Supervisor

About the role

The HVAC Supervisor performs preventive and corrective maintenance and supports the team by directing Technical Officers and Technicians and helping improve department performance. He also ensures proper handover of work between shifts and reports equipment faults to the Engineers and Senior Engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the team performs its assigned jobs well, train them on maintenance tasks and make sure they know the assets and installations.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) correctly and on time, and complete corrective tasks on time.
• Assist subcontractors with the work assigned to them and take care of the quality of the work done by the team.
• Report defects, issues, breakdowns and damage to the FRC or Engineer, and report spare parts requirements and availability.
• Follow instructions from Engineers and managers, and take responsibility for special projects assigned by the Line Manager.
• Help produce documents needed for internal or external audits and act professionally and politely as a team player.
• Comply with company standards on hygiene, dress code and behaviour, and with HSEQ standards, including health procedures and client rules.
• Escalate requests for equipment or tools, report accidents, incidents and near misses, and ensure staff have the statutory training, proper PPE and permits for their tasks.
• Develop and maintain Material Safety, Risk Assessment and COSHH documents, check that control measures are implemented and report observations to the HSEQ Department.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
• 10 years of relevant maintenance experience in a compatible facility.
• Knowledge of regulations such as OSHA, MSDS, NFPA and BS.
