HVAC Technician – Facilities Maintenance

About the role

The HVAC Technician supports the facilities maintenance team by performing installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC‑R) systems. The role operates under general direction and may require emergency response outside regular hours.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance according to job plans and technical publications.
• Install, modify, repair, fabricate, and troubleshoot HVAC‑R equipment up to 35 ton capacity, including ventilation and control systems.
• Calibrate thermostats and electronic, pressure, and pneumatic controls to ensure proper temperature and equipment operation.
• Respond to 24‑hour emergency calls, using required tools, parts, and a vehicle.
• Diagnose malfunctions, use pressure/temperature test equipment, and adjust components for optimal efficiency.
• Inspect work for compliance with safety standards, SOPs, and quality procedures.
• Provide technical guidance to facilities personnel and train co‑workers on preventive maintenance.
• Operate mechanical handling equipment when trained and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Organizational skills and basic proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
• Ability to read and interpret technical data, plans, blueprints, and publications for USAF HVAC‑R systems.
• Valid driver’s license from home country and ability to obtain a host‑nation license.
