Hygiene Officer - MGallery Hotel, Doha

About the role

At MGallery, maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and food safety is essential to creating a safe and welcoming environment. As a Hygiene Officer, you ensure cleanliness, sanitation and compliance with food safety standards, contributing to the wellbeing of guests and colleagues. The hotel is Alwadi Doha, a 5-star boutique hotel in Msheireb Downtown Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor hygiene, sanitation and food safety standards throughout the hotel.
• Inspect kitchens, food outlets, storage areas and the staff cafeteria regularly.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP principles and applicable food safety regulations.
• Check food storage, labelling, temperature control, expiry dates and food handling practices.
• Identify hygiene risks and follow up with departments on corrective actions.
• Ensure proper cleaning, sanitation, waste management and pest control procedures.
• Maintain accurate hygiene inspection reports and related documentation.
• Provide hygiene awareness and food safety guidance to staff.
• Assist with internal and external hygiene audits and inspections.
• Coordinate with departments to maintain the hotel's hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Certificate or qualification in Food Safety, Hygiene or a related field.
• Previous experience in a similar role in a hotel or hospitality environment is an asset.
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different departments.
• Proactive attitude with a strong commitment to hygiene, safety and quality.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
