International Expansion Business Lead – China & South Korea

About the role

The bank is seeking a senior leader to drive its international expansion agenda across China and South Korea. The Business Lead will shape market‑entry strategies, build on‑ground coverage, and generate trade finance and FDI flows that support the bank’s broader Connectivity Strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the expansion strategy for China and South Korea, identifying growth opportunities in trade finance, investment banking and FDI.
• Lead the establishment of local market coverage models, including representative offices, branches or partnership hubs, and define required resources and operating structures.
• Originate cross‑border trade and investment opportunities, increasing the bank’s participation in key China‑GCC and Korea‑GCC trade corridors.
• Collaborate with Global Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, Operations and Technology teams to enable product and platform solutions for international clients.
• Build strategic partnerships with corporates, financial institutions, chambers of commerce, trade associations and investment agencies to accelerate market access.
• Support rollout of trade finance, cash management and investment‑related products that meet local client needs.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in international banking, trade finance, corporate banking or cross‑border investment services.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing market‑entry strategies in Asia.
• Strong understanding of regulatory, operational and partnership frameworks in China and South Korea.
• Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
