IT Security Specialist – Onsite in Qatar

About the role

The client is seeking an experienced IT Security Specialist to work onsite in Qatar for a 20‑month assignment within the oil & gas sector. The role involves investigating security incidents, managing access controls, and ensuring compliance with international security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate security breaches, violation reports and logs, and provide recommendations for remediation.
• Administer physical and logical access controls and conduct security control reviews.
• Assess risks of network attacks, perform business risk and vulnerability assessments, and produce business impact analyses.
• Review compliance with information security policies, standards and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate security risks to users, manage incident response, and use forensics when appropriate.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems or related field.
• 10+ years of information security experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry.
• Strong knowledge of international security standards such as ISO 27002.
• Proven ability to assess risk, evaluate legislation impact and promote compliance.
