Junior Researcher (Lashuel Lab)

About the role

Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar is hiring a Junior Researcher for the Lashuel Lab in Doha, Qatar. The position supports laboratory research by performing routine experiments and assisting with study activities under the guidance of the Principal Investigator. It is a full-time role working Sunday to Thursday, with no sponsorship eligibility.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare materials, cell culture media and experimental samples, and assist with cell culture preparation and routine biomedical laboratory experiments under supervision.
• Set up and operate laboratory instruments and experimental systems, perform routine checks and report technical or experimental issues for troubleshooting.
• Follow approved laboratory safety, biosafety, aseptic technique and waste-handling procedures.
• Take part in ongoing experiments and keep detailed records, logs and summary reports, including graphs, scientific calculations and statistical charting.
• Assist with basic data analysis, process documentation and lab-related SOP updates.
• Receive, label and store lab supplies and equipment, keeping material receipts and logs for inventory control.
• Assist with approved animal studies, including animal handling, sample collection and experimental procedures, under appropriate supervision.
• Follow laboratory safety, quality control and research compliance requirements, and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences, life sciences or a related field, with up to 3 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience in a healthcare or biomedical research setting is desirable.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of research experiments, laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
• Ability to follow established procedures, collect and organize research data, and perform basic analysis under guidance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
