Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to head our mechanical discipline teams. You will oversee the preparation and coordination of design, procurement and detailed drawings for building and infrastructure projects, ensuring quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and guide mechanical teams in producing design, procurement and detail drawings.
• Plan and coordinate project activities, delivering accurate technical information within schedule and manpower budgets.
• Develop sound design concepts and solve complex engineering problems.
• Review and resolve interdisciplinary design, procurement and technical issues.
• Communicate with design coordinators, clients, site personnel and other departments to keep projects on track.
• Monitor progress, prepare regular management reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise external subcontractors and sub‑consultants, defining scope and coordinating interfaces.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading mechanical design teams on large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of local authority requirements and construction coordination.
• Hands‑on experience in testing, commissioning and balancing of HVAC, plumbing and fire‑fighting systems.
• Ability to produce material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and approval documents.
• Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, site staff and multidisciplinary teams.
