Licensed Engineer – Rotary Wing

About the role

The Licensed Engineer – Rotary Wing is responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of helicopter fleets and for performing flying duties as required. Reporting to the Senior Manager Maintenance‑Rotary, the role combines technical supervision, hands‑on engineering, and operational flight responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Review work plans and allocate resources to meet maintenance schedules.
• Inform the Senior Manager of completed work and potential service disruptions.
• Prioritise tasks, supervise maintenance staff, and ensure on‑time aircraft dispatch.
• Complete all required documentation and certifications for maintenance activities.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and debriefings to capture defects.
• Act as the Operating Engineer, performing assigned flying duties.
• Represent the organisation on site during subcontracted layovers and lead special projects.
• Support the Senior Manager in broader maintenance management duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent technical apprenticeship.
• Valid Part 66 License and Helicopter Maintenance Engineering License.
• Minimum five years experience as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer (B1, B2 or both) on rotary‑wing aircraft.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Proven ability to make clear decisions under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Part 66 licensing.
• Helicopter Maintenance Engineering License.
• LAE (B1/B2) certification.
• Comprehensive knowledge of helicopter systems and maintenance procedures.
