Lifting Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lifting Specialist to lead lifting and rigging operations for oil & gas projects in Qatar. The role involves planning, supervising and ensuring safe execution of shutdowns, turnarounds, tank erection, offshore logistics and heavy/critical lifts in line with international standards and HSE regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed lifting plans for basic to critical lifts using AutoCAD.
• Conduct risk assessments, method statements and Job Safety Analyses to guarantee safe lifting practices.
• Supervise rigging teams and coordinate with contractors, engineers and HSE personnel on site.
• Inspect, maintain and certify lifting equipment, accessories and rigging stores.
• Train, assess and qualify riggers, crane operators and other lifting personnel.
• Manage crane scheduling, monitor crane activities and oversee heavy crane operations.
• Prepare erection schemes for heavy equipment and over‑dimensional loads.
• Provide technical support during audits, shutdowns and turnaround projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of lifting and rigging experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• LEEA Appointed Person (AP) certification and a valid TUV certification.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7121 standards, crane management and rigging practices.
