Senior Principal Reservoir Engineer

About the role

The Senior Principal Reservoir Engineer will lead advanced reservoir studies for the offshore Idd El‑Shargi field, driving optimisation of field development plans and delivering high‑quality reservoir performance analyses.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret advanced horizontal well pressure‑time analysis (PTA) including deconvolution, multi‑layer and double‑porosity systems.
• Build and update dynamic black‑oil and compositional reservoir models for development planning.
• Conduct annual reserves reviews and generate long‑term production and injection forecasts.
• Integrate reservoir engineering inputs across short‑, medium‑ and long‑term project phases.
• Identify target reservoir layers and define well‑reservoir contacts for new vertical, deviated and horizontal wells.
• Prepare post‑drill reservoir engineering reports and contribute to integrated development plans.
• Maintain reservoir engineering databases, real‑time data links and oversee contractor compliance.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching for Qatari staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of reservoir engineering experience, preferably in mature carbonate fields.
• Proven expertise in horizontal well PTA interpretation and complex reservoir systems.
• Strong background in numerical reservoir simulation, history matching and sensitivity analysis.
• Experience with transient well‑test design, material‑balance modelling and performance prediction.
• Familiarity with reserves evaluation standards (SPE PRMS or SEC).
