Maintenance Technician - Hotel

About the role

A full-time, non-management maintenance position at a Marriott hotel in Lusail, Qatar (Building No. 3, Street No. 353). The role covers responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance and basic repairs across tools, kitchen, mechanical rooms and guestroom equipment, while keeping close contact with guests and other shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, communicating clearly with guests and customers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and visually inspect tools, equipment and machines.
• Carry equipment such as tools and radios, and identify, locate and operate shut-off valves and utility shut-offs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Report daily activities and problems to other shifts through approved communication programs.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters, then clean up the work area.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair equipment, plumbing (plunge toilets, unclog drains), electrical components, lamps, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
• Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems.
• Enter air handler schedules and make temperature changes on a computer.
• Welcome guests, assist individuals with disabilities and follow safety, security and company policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting preferred.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Driver's license required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge or ability to learn air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation and building systems.
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and changing temperatures.
