Manager – Underwriting (Property & Casualty) – General Insurance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead underwriting activities for Property, Engineering, Casualty and General Accident insurance products. The role focuses on servicing existing corporate customers, ensuring high‑quality risk selection and supporting the digitisation of underwriting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite corporate risks in line with authority limits and arrange facultative reinsurance when required.
• Review policy and endorsement wordings, contracts and ensure technical accuracy of all transactions.
• Handle audit queries, track documentation flow and produce MIS reports.
• Assess underwriting proposals, release quotations and negotiate premiums and terms with clients and brokers.
• Lead and mentor a team of Underwriting Officers, ensuring compliance with guidelines and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of underwriting experience in Property, Engineering, Casualty and General Accident lines for corporate accounts.
• Engineering graduate or postgraduate in Science, Finance or Management.
• Professional insurance certification (ACII, Diploma in Insurance, FIII, AIII/CII).
• Strong analytical ability, leadership skills and capacity to work under pressure.
