Mason – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Mason will support the engineering and housekeeping teams by responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and handling interior and exterior painting, carpentry, and landscaping tasks at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and attend guest repair requests, communicating with guests to resolve issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and complete clean‑up of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, light bulbs, TV programming, and other guestroom items.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and use the Lockout/Tagout system before work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and stairs.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic systems.
• Carpentry, painting, drywall, and wood‑trim repair skills.
• Experience with landscaping and sprinkler maintenance.
• Ability to use basic computer systems for scheduling and inventory.
