Mechanical Engineer – Air Force Contract (Doha, Qatar)

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will support the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) at Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar. This position involves planning, designing, and overseeing mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and centralized utility plants.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review mechanical equipment, tools, engines, and machines.
• Analyze and verify HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems for code compliance.
• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems.
• Conduct construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews.
• Attend project meetings and travel to local sites to ensure compliance and quality.
• Provide technical guidance and perform other qualified duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
• At least 10 years of experience in construction or facility maintenance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, project programming, design, construction management, and code interpretation.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

• AutoCAD 2025+ for creating accurate facility and infrastructure plans.
• Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Project.
• HVAC system analysis and design.
