Munitions Technician – USAF Munitions Handling

About the role

The Munitions Technician is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting and maintaining United States Air Force (USAF) munitions and related equipment. The role operates within a high‑security environment, ensuring compliance with USAF, host‑nation, and contractor quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, store, and inventory munitions and associated handling equipment in accordance with strict explosives safety regulations.
• Operate the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) for shipment preparation, receipt, and tracking.
• Inspect, repair, and recondition munitions, containers, and related components, documenting any discrepancies.
• Conduct warehouse inventories, resolve accountability issues, and prepare shipments for air, sea, and surface transport.
• Maintain and operate light vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, manual hoists, and other material‑handling equipment.
• Provide safety briefings, supervise OCN workforce when required, and perform emergency response actions.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems or equivalent U.S. service documentation.
• Ability to work in a warehouse/maintenance shop environment and outdoors for extended periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including standby duties, to support mission requirements.

Required skills

• Forklift, pallet‑jack and manual‑hoist operation
• Metal‑strapping, stencil‑machine, heat‑sealer, pneumatic paint‑gun and power‑tool usage
• Vehicle and equipment inspection and minor maintenance
• USAF Supply and Technical Order systems knowledge
