Operations Specialist – Offshore Operations

About the role

QatarEnergy LNG is looking for an Operations Specialist in Doha to lead offshore operations, mainly in offshore project activities, asset performance reporting and business planning. The role also supports operational and maintenance troubleshooting so that operations remain safe and reliable and meet the overall asset objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead offshore operations input for Cat-I/II/III greenfield and brownfield project facility reviews, including HAZOP and RAM studies, to ensure designs meet reliability and integrity requirements for human factor, operability and maintainability.
• Facilitate risk screening, formal risk assessments, root cause failure analysis and mitigate volume threat review meetings, maintain the asset risk register and track management of risk actions until closeout.
• Coordinate with SHEQ, loss prevention engineers, subsurface, facility engineering, onshore operations and projects to resolve operational issues and project concerns.
• Manage the asset issue register, follow up management of change, interface agreements, shutdown scope change requests and corrective action requests, and act as Risk Management Coordinator under ERM and MOR guidelines.
• Drive best practice implementation, priority setting and alignment with corporate objectives, and liaise with maintenance and engineering to review process studies for facility events.
• Advise on commissioning and start-up procedures, support operations readiness, and coordinate with projects and OES during mechanical completion of new facilities.
• Track asset performance against KPIs, prepare weekly and monthly reports and feed data into quarterly and bi-annual forums and asset performance reviews.
• Follow up abnormal operating conditions and production loss accounting system reports, identify problem areas and develop solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 10 years of oil and gas experience, including 5 years in offshore project commissioning and start-up.
• 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
