Patrol Boat Skipper

About the role

The Patrol Boat Skipper is responsible for safely transporting guests on scheduled transfers and excursions from Banana Island Resort Doha. This role ensures each trip is well‑prepared, comfortable, and complies with all maritime regulations while delivering a high level of guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily transfer and excursion schedules, noting guest numbers, names and special requirements.
• Prepare the boat with required cold towels, beverages, sea‑sick bands, raincoats (seasonal) and ensure all supplies are stocked.
• Set up the boat 30 minutes before departure, maintain grooming and uniform standards, and keep the vessel clean and ready at the guest jetty.
• Coordinate meals for crew members on‑board, adhering to resort pricing policies.
• Follow maritime law, maintain the Sea Worthy certificate on board, and carry a valid Captain’s License at all times.
• Perform routine cleaning, inspections and basic maintenance; report and follow up on any issues with the Launch Section Manager.
• Assist engineering delegates with engine or equipment maintenance and ensure safety equipment (life jackets, fire extinguishers) is functional.
• Assess weather conditions and advise management on the feasibility of trips.

Required profile

• Valid Captain’s License.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Transport & Communication maritime regulations.
• Experience in boat operation, guest handling and basic maintenance.
• Ability to follow resort grooming and uniform standards.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
