Physician / Consultant Clinical Scientist – Clinical Biochemistry

About the role

Sidra Medicine in Doha is seeking a Physician or Consultant Clinical Scientist specialized in Clinical Biochemistry to join its expanding Pathology Department. The role supports paediatric and women’s health services by delivering high‑quality laboratory diagnostics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide laboratory services and perform diagnostic testing in clinical biochemistry.
• Interpret test results and communicate findings to medical staff.
• Maintain quality control and assurance programmes.
• Contribute to division management, including service development.
• Participate in teaching and training of junior staff and students.
• Engage in basic and applied research projects.

Required profile

• PhD in a relevant field for Clinical Scientist candidates or MD/MBBS (or equivalent) for physician candidates.
• Board certification or fellowship in Clinical Biochemistry (e.g., FRCPath, FACMG, FCCMG, FFSc/FRCPA).
• Minimum 2 years experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory (or post‑certification experience for physicians).
• Proven knowledge of laboratory practice and paediatric disease diagnostics.
