Piping Engineer – EPIC GRP/GRE Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to lead EPIC activities for GRP/GRE piping systems on major oil & gas and petrochemical projects in Qatar. The role involves overseeing design compliance, site execution, testing, and commissioning while ensuring strict adherence to safety and client standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation, Commissioning) activities for GRP/GRE piping systems.
• Review technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications for compliance with project standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and client representatives on material delivery, installation progress, and quality control.
• Conduct site inspections, hydrotesting, and pre‑commissioning activities.
• Prepare and maintain ITPs, inspection reports, as‑built drawings, and progress updates.
• Ensure all works comply with HSE standards, Qatar Energy regulations, and project‑specific safety requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on installation methods, jointing procedures, and repair techniques.
• Liaise with procurement and engineering teams to resolve technical queries and material substitutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 + years hands‑on experience with GRP/GRE piping in oil & gas, petrochemical or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience on Qatar‑based projects (Qatar Energy, Qatar Gas, ASHGHAL, EPC contractors).
• Strong knowledge of API, ASME, ISO, NACE and client‑specific specifications.
• Valid Qatar driving licence and ability to work on industrial sites such as Ras Laffan, Mesaieed, Dukhan.
• Excellent command of English; Arabic is a plus.
