Planning Engineer - Desalination Projects

About the role

This Planning Engineer position covers the development, updating and maintenance of project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project. It involves preparing baseline programs, look-ahead schedules, recovery plans and resource-loaded schedules, monitoring progress across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases, and supporting delay analysis, claims and change management.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze schedule variances and identify potential risks to project delivery
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, subcontractors and client representatives to collect and validate progress data
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and KPI reports
• Review contractor and subcontractor schedules and assess schedule impacts
• Support delay analysis, claims preparation and change management processes
• Track project milestones and ensure compliance with contractual requirements
• Participate in project review meetings and give planning recommendations to optimise performance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 5-10 years of planning and scheduling experience in large-scale infrastructure, water treatment or industrial projects
• Proven experience on desalination plant projects (RO, SWRO, MSF or MED technologies preferred)
• Strong knowledge of EPC project execution and project controls
• PMP certification is an advantage; Primavera P6 professional certification is preferred
