Planning & Follow Up Advisor

About the role

The Planning & Follow Up Advisor will support the implementation of planning, scheduling and reporting activities for a large infrastructure programme in Qatar. The role ensures consistent application of project control systems across the programme and provides expert advice on contract procurement and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and improve existing project control systems used by PWA.
• Propose techniques and standards to maximise efficiency of project control activities.
• Develop and oversee KPI and Earned Value System implementation, monitoring compliance and efficiency.
• Lead a team of project control personnel, reviewing submittals and issuing recommendations.
• Advise managers on project control submittals, slippages, recovery schedules and progress reviews.
• Recommend optimal use of human and technological resources, including training on project control tools.
• Analyse consultant, project manager and contractor performance against contractual requirements.
• Review contractor claims and provide expert opinions when required.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status or professional licence from an internationally recognised body.
• Minimum 20 years of post‑graduate experience on major infrastructure projects, including at least 10 years in a similar role and 5 years in Qatar or the Gulf region.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic desirable).
• Background in business analytics or big data is a plus.
