Principal Architect – Data Centre Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Architect to lead the design and delivery of large‑scale data centre and mission‑critical projects for an international engineering consultancy. You will drive projects from concept through construction, ensuring innovative, high‑performance solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and development of data centre and mission‑critical facilities.
• Produce and coordinate drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including MEP, structural, civil, and BIM specialists.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and client standards.
• Facilitate design reviews, coordination meetings, and stakeholder workshops.
• Review material selections and approve architectural submissions.
• Conduct site visits and construction reviews to verify design quality.
• Drive value engineering and design optimisation initiatives.
• Oversee project delivery across all phases, from concept to construction.
• Mentor junior team members and support their development.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture from a recognised university.
• 8+ years of experience in architecture and design consultancy.
• Proven experience in data centre or mission‑critical design.
• Background in large‑scale infrastructure or technology‑focused developments.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, life‑safety requirements and international data centre standards.
• Experience with BIM‑based project delivery and multi‑country design teams.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management abilities.
