Principal Project Planner

About the role

Worley is seeking a Principal Project Planner to lead planning activities for oil and gas projects, both offshore and onshore. The role involves creating and managing man‑hour budgets, schedules, and staffing plans while ensuring project delivery aligns with health, safety, environmental and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain man‑hour budgets, schedules, and manpower loadings based on project requirements.
• Ensure coverage for vacations and unplanned absences and facilitate team continuity.
• Mentor and train team members, support performance reviews, and promote compliance with processes.
• Resolve inter‑discipline, vendor and customer issues and supervise planning during design and construction phases.
• Liaise with clients on cost‑related matters and provide inputs for monthly invoicing.
• Assign resources, identify critical paths, conduct risk analysis and implement progress measurement and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Mandatory MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation or willingness to obtain it during probation.
• Project management certification (PMP, AACE or equivalent).
• Extensive planning and cost‑control experience in oil and gas projects.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Primavera (P7, P6.2), Primavera Portfolio Management and Primavera Contract Management.
• Strong knowledge of MS Project and Pertmaster 8 for risk analysis.
• Experience with earned‑value management, cash‑flow forecasting, invoice preparation and project auditing.
