Procurement Lead – Onshore Project (Doha, Qatar)

About the role

The Procurement Lead will direct all contractor procurement activities for a large onshore oil & gas project in Doha. You will ensure that materials and services are sourced cost‑effectively, on schedule, and in full compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Align procurement objectives with the Project Management Team and define priorities.
• Manage long‑lead item procurement, including ITT preparation, tender coordination, bid evaluation and contract administration.
• Develop and execute overall and package‑specific procurement plans, covering spare parts, bulk materials, close‑out and reconciliation.
• Provide regular performance updates on schedule, cost, risks and mitigation to the PMT.
• Oversee contractor procurement across execution phases, ensuring adherence to approved procedures and contractual terms.
• Review and improve contractor purchasing documentation to match company standards.
• Monitor ethical procurement practices and material quality standards.
• Ensure effective use of contractor materials management systems for timely acquisition of materials and spare parts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of contract management and procurement experience in major oil & gas or energy projects.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or oversight experience, including vendor management.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices and supply market dynamics.
