Project Cost Controller

About the role

The Project Cost Controller will establish and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls for Qatar Fabrication Company’s projects in Doha. Working closely with the project team, you will independently apply cost‑control procedures and provide regular performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Set up Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) aligned with the approved project scope and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Allocate project budgets accurately and control budgets for equipment, material purchase orders, sub‑contracts, and fabrication activities.
• Implement project‑specific cost control systems, including cost databases and reporting templates.
• Analyse cost reports, identify issues, and communicate cost performance, risks, and opportunities to the project management team.
• Prepare and update the Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecast based on remaining scope, expenditures, and commitments.
• Maintain the project change‑management system in line with QFAB procedures.
• Prepare, route, and submit monthly progress invoices to the client.
• Support the Lead Cost Engineer as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience with offshore projects and fabrication.
