Research Associate

About the role

The Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center at Qatar University seeks a Research Associate to support its interdisciplinary research programmes in transportation safety and traffic studies. The role involves designing experiments, managing laboratory activities, and contributing to high‑impact publications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement research methods, protocols, and safety procedures, adopting new techniques or instrumentation as needed.
• Oversee laboratory work, maintain equipment, conduct quality‑control analysis of reagents, and manage procurement of supplies.
• Collect, prepare, and analyse research data; maintain detailed notebooks and electronic databases; use statistical and graphics software for data presentation.
• Supervise students and other laboratory personnel, coordinate research efforts, and provide training.
• Prepare scientific progress reports and assist in writing grant and funding applications.
• Contribute to the centre’s publication output through high‑impact journal articles.

Required profile

• Minimum of one month of relevant experience in a research or laboratory setting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an academic environment.
• Strong written communication skills for report and manuscript preparation.
