Resident Mechanical Engineer – Airport Projects

About the role

The Resident Engineer (Mechanical) provides on‑site engineering supervision and technical oversight of mechanical works for large, complex building projects within an international airport environment, ensuring installations meet drawings, specifications, standards and schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical works including HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, drainage and related systems.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and standards.
• Review shop drawings, technical submissions, material approvals and inspection requests.
• Coordinate mechanical activities with electrical, architectural, structural, fire protection and other disciplines.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, design discrepancies and interface conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with quality, health & safety, airport security and operational requirements.
• Oversee testing, commissioning and performance verification of mechanical systems.
• Prepare site inspection reports, progress updates and technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Membership of APM or another recognized project management institution.
• Minimum 15 years of experience on large building projects, preferably cargo facilities.
• At least 10 years of experience on major international airport projects.
• Proven experience in mechanical engineering construction supervision and resident engineering.
• Strong knowledge of airport safety, security and operational requirements.
