Safety Engineer Level II

About the role

Worley is seeking a Safety Engineer Level II to support safety and risk design for oil and gas projects. The role involves applying engineering standards, regulatory requirements and customer specifications to ensure safe and reliable operations both onshore and offshore.

Key responsibilities

• Support adherence to engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
• Standardise equipment specifications, drawings and document templates.
• Conduct design and operational engineering studies in risk, safety and safety‑risk domains.
• Prepare and assist with hazard studies (HAZID, ENVID, HAZOP, LOPA) and HSE checklists.
• Perform design HSE reviews including human factors, hazardous area classification, inherent safety and alarm prioritisation.
• Gather and compile safety and environmental information for projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (full‑time).
• MME engineering accreditation (mandatory) or willingness to obtain during probation.
• Experience in brown‑field oil and gas safety & risk design, including offshore projects.
• Experience working on multi‑disciplinary projects, preferably in the Middle East.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is an advantage.

Required skills

• Pipenet, PHAST, SAFETI, PHA Pro, Flaresim, Detect3D (optional), exSILentia (optional).
• Active fire protection design, hydraulic analysis, P&ID and PFD creation.
• Fire & Gas layout design, C/E diagrams, passive fire protection.
• Hazardous area classification, NFPA and international safety standards.
• Consequence analysis (gas dispersion, toxic, fire, explosion, vent dispersion, flare radiation modeling).
• Safety‑critical element analysis and performance assessment.
