Safety Supervisor

About the role

Avanceon is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Supervisor to oversee and promote health, safety and environmental (HSE) compliance across its operations in Doha, Qatar. The role covers implementing safety policies, carrying out inspections and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements and building a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safety training and awareness sessions on emergency response, hazardous material handling, accident prevention and safe work practices.
• Carry out regular site safety inspections and audits to find hazards, unsafe conditions and non-compliance.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, local regulations, client requirements and applicable HSE laws.
• Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety procedures.
• Identify hazards and carry out risk assessments for work activities, equipment and the work environment.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, find root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Stay up to date with HSE regulations and industry standards and recommend improvements to safety policies.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports and other HSE documentation.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through employee participation in HSE initiatives.

Required profile

• NEBOSH or IOSH certification is mandatory.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Safety Supervisor, preferably in Qatar.
• Good knowledge of Ashghal requirements and QCS 2014; Ashghal-approved Safety Supervisors are preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
