Section Head – Data Governance

About the role

The Bank is looking for an experienced Section Head to lead its Enterprise Data Governance function. This senior position will shape data governance strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and support digital transformation, analytics, and AI initiatives across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and mature the enterprise data governance framework, policies, standards, and controls.
• Drive adoption of data governance across Business, IT, Risk, Compliance and other functions.
• Define data ownership and stewardship models with clear accountability.
• Lead initiatives on data quality, metadata management, data lineage, data cataloging and critical data elements.
• Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and support audit activities.
• Manage data governance tools, master data governance and a trusted source of enterprise data.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in data management or data governance within banking or financial services.
• Proven track record of building and operationalizing an enterprise data governance function from scratch.
• Experience leading cross‑functional stakeholder engagement and managing data governance teams.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, governance controls and data‑related risk management.
