Senior Accountant (Arabic Required)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who is fluent in Arabic to lead our accounting operations in Qatar. The role involves overseeing day‑to‑day financial activities, ensuring accuracy of records, and supporting reporting and compliance with Iraqi tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, journal entries, and month‑end / year‑end closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports and perform account reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with Iraqi tax laws, IFRS standards and company policies, including VAT filings.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and liaise with auditors.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and drive process improvements.
• Interact with banks, vendors and internal departments on financial matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, real estate or engineering.
• Fluent in Arabic (spoken and written).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Iraqi financial regulations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Odoo.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience preparing VAT and tax filings.
