Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will be based in Doha and will lead daily accounting operations for Petrofac Qatar. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the company’s energy, petrochemical, infrastructure and construction activities by ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, process accounts payable and receivable, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Post payroll‑related entries and prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Conduct cost analyses, support budgeting and forecasting, and monitor variances.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, improve internal controls, and streamline accounting processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights for business decisions.

Required profile

• Strong core accounting knowledge, including ledger management, AP/AR, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and financial reporting for management.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis.
• Understanding of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and internal control frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities, with the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for interaction with internal teams, auditors and external partners.
