Senior Accountant – Logistics & Claims Review

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with strong logistics and claims‑review experience to join a short‑term project in Qatar. The role involves detailed financial verification, reconciliation of logistics‑related transactions and validation of reimbursement claims to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed financial verification and reconciliation of transactions, claims and supporting documentation.
• Review reimbursement claims against eligibility criteria, policies and contractual terms.
• Analyze logistics documents such as invoices, freight charges, bills of lading, customs declarations and proof of delivery.
• Identify and investigate discrepancies, unsupported expenses and documentation gaps.
• Prepare clear financial reports, findings and exception summaries.
• Conduct data analysis on large datasets, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and project teams to resolve queries.
• Support audit, compliance reviews, agreed‑upon procedures or forensic investigations as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting or audit roles.
• Proven experience in financial review, reconciliations and documentation validation.
• Hands‑on exposure to logistics, shipping, commodity trading or supply‑chain operations.
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA or CIA are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Strong data‑analysis and large‑dataset reconciliation capabilities.
• Understanding of logistics cost structures and Incoterms (FOB, CIF, EXW).
• Ability to review logistics invoices, shipping and customs documentation.
