Senior Backend Engineer (Foods)

About the role

Snoonu, Qatar’s home‑grown Super App, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build high‑performance services for its food‑related offerings. You will work with a modern tech stack, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and help shape the architecture of a fast‑growing platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET Core 8.
• Optimize database performance in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB through query tuning and efficient data modeling.
• Participate in system design discussions to improve scalability and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor team members.
• Refactor existing codebases for better efficiency and readability.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests to ensure high test coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in production and development environments.
• Document technical decisions, system architecture, and processes.
• Support production deployments and verify system stability after releases.

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend development experience, including 5+ years with .NET Core.
• Strong expertise in building RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
• Deep knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and non‑relational databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ and distributed asynchronous systems.
• Proven ability to apply software design patterns and perform large‑scale refactoring.
• Hands‑on experience with unit, integration, and performance testing.
