Senior Backend Engineer (.NET Core, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)

About the role

Snoonu, a Qatari super app combining delivery, ride-hailing and shopping, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer. The role focuses on building and maintaining backend services with .NET Core 8, optimizing database performance and taking part in system design and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build backend services with .NET Core 8 that integrate smoothly with the rest of the system.
• Optimize database performance through query optimization and efficient data models in PostgreSQL, MongoDB and DynamoDB.
• Take part in system design discussions to improve architecture, scalability and maintainability.
• Conduct code reviews, implement refactoring and write unit and integration tests with high coverage.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in production and development, and document technical decisions and processes.
• Participate in production deployments so systems work correctly after releases.

Required profile

• 7+ years of backend development experience, including 5+ years with .NET Core.
• Experience with code refactoring, unit, integration and performance testing.
• Bonus: strong performance troubleshooting (e.g. memory leaks), leading large projects, mentoring juniors, load testing, diagramming tools such as Miro.

Required skills

• .NET Core 8 and RESTful services and gRPC.
• PostgreSQL, MongoDB and DynamoDB.
• RabbitMQ and asynchronous/distributed systems concepts.
• Software design patterns such as Singleton, Factory and Strategy.
