Senior Cost Controller – Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

The Senior Cost Controller will lead operational cost control and financial planning activities for rig‑level assets, ensuring accurate cost recognition, financial visibility and reporting integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and review of rig‑level accounts, operational cost reports and financial analyses to ensure accurate cost recognition and reporting integrity.
• Monitor operational expenditures, cost allocations, accruals and rig‑related financial activities, ensuring compliance with budgets, accounting standards and finance procedures.
• Analyse performance across rigs and assets to identify trends, variances, risks and cost‑optimization opportunities, and present findings to management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for operational assets, coordinating with Operations, Technical, Supply Chain and other stakeholders.
• Review monthly profit & loss accounts, prepare and validate accruals, and ensure accurate recognition of operational costs.
• Oversee billing activities, validate invoices and charge calculations, and resolve billing discrepancies with Finance, Operations and Commercial teams.

Required profile

• Significant experience in cost control, financial analysis and reporting for operational assets, preferably in rig or heavy‑industry environments.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, budgeting, forecasting and internal control frameworks.
• Proven ability to guide and mentor junior cost control staff, providing technical direction and ensuring adherence to finance procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Advanced financial modeling and analysis, typically using Excel or similar platforms.
• Ability to develop and maintain analytical dashboards and multi‑year financial plans.
