Senior Cybersecurity Assurance Consultant

About the role

The Senior Cybersecurity Assurance Consultant leads the design, delivery and continuous improvement of assurance services that evaluate cybersecurity, information security and compliance across the organisation. The role translates strategic objectives into operational programmes, manages multidisciplinary teams and ensures alignment with national and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, monitor and improve the assurance service portfolio.
• Convert departmental strategic direction into actionable projects and programmes.
• Identify and resolve challenges in the operation and promotion of assurance services.
• Assess and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of department operations.
• Manage and allocate resources within the assurance team.
• Coordinate with other departments to deliver projects and maintain governance.
• Define department objectives and key results, and report progress to senior management.
• Oversee deliverables related to the NISCF accreditation framework.
• Lead, mentor and develop NISCF certification and accreditation specialists.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders, providing expert feedback and fostering adoption of assurance services.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Risk Management or related field, or at least 18 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of audit and assurance experience, with at least 4 years in specialised assessment or auditing.
• Proven hands‑on experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT audit and assurance.
• Professional certifications in auditing, compliance or risk management are preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with senior executives and decision‑makers.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of risk management and compliance assessment.
• Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 27001, COBIT, NIA and Common Criteria.
• Knowledge of accreditation and certification standards: ISO 17021, ISO 17024, ISO 17025, ISO 17065, ISO 27006.
• Experience in governance, regulatory compliance and management‑system development.
• Project management and team‑leadership capabilities.
