Senior Data Architect – Data & AI (Qatar)

About the role

The organization is seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design and governance of its enterprise data architecture supporting analytics and AI initiatives across Qatar. You will work closely with business and technology teams to ensure data solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Govern and evolve the Enterprise Data Architecture framework for Data Analytics and AI.
• Define and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business and AI needs.
• Review and validate data architecture designs, data flows, lineage, and integration patterns for compliance with governance, quality, security, and privacy standards.
• Assess AI use cases from a technical perspective, ensuring proper data sourcing, integration, performance, and alignment with target architecture.
• Establish technical controls for Responsible AI, including bias detection, explainability, and monitoring.
• Evaluate vendor and third‑party solutions for architectural fit, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Govern data integration frameworks, ETL/ELT processes, APIs, streaming, and batch flows.
• Support regulatory compliance initiatives, audits, and architecture governance forums.

Required profile

• 7‑10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Enterprise Data Management, or Data Engineering, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data architecture principles, data modeling, integration, and governance frameworks.
• Experience with modern data platforms, data warehouses, lakehouses, and analytics ecosystems.
• Understanding of AI/ML data ecosystems and Responsible AI principles.
• Professional certifications such as TOGAF, DAMA, CDMP, or cloud architecture certifications are preferred.
