Senior Electrical Engineer - UPDA Grade A / Solar PV

About the role

The Senior Electrical Engineer leads the technical delivery of electrical works across real estate development, facility management and new solar PV projects. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from feasibility, design and pricing through daily site supervision, testing, commissioning and handover, and includes managing technical teams and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare execution plans, supervise subcontractors and technical teams, and monitor quality, cost and progress against schedule
• Review electrical drawings (Single Line Diagrams, shop drawings, as-built drawings), perform load calculations and size cables, breakers, protection and earthing
• Carry out quantity take-offs, prepare and review Bills of Quantities, support tendering and pricing, and verify payment applications
• Review material submittals and method statements, resolve clashes, and obtain approvals from clients, consultants and authorities
• Provide technical oversight of operation, maintenance and upgrades of electrical systems, and analyse recurring faults
• Conduct feasibility studies for solar PV projects, design and review PV components, and supervise installation and grid connection in line with KAHRAMAA regulations
• Oversee inspections, testing, commissioning and acceptance, close out snag items and help meet the qualification requirements for solar PV projects

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a valid UPDA/MMUP Grade A registration
• Over ten years of total experience preferred, including in Qatar
• Documented experience on at least two solar PV projects in the past year, and eligibility to qualify as a Senior PV Engineer with KAHRAMAA
• Priority given to candidates who have completed KAHRAMAA training and passed its exams

Required skills

• AutoCAD and at least one solar design software such as PVsyst or HelioScope
• ETAP and BESS experience is an advantage
• Strong technical report writing and communication with clients and consultants
