Senior Faculty – Data Science & AI

About the role

We are seeking a senior faculty member to lead data‑science and artificial‑intelligence research at the AI Center for Precision Health in Qatar. The role will shape computational strategies that support population‑scale precision‑health initiatives across the Weill Cornell Medicine‑Qatar campus and its New York partner.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy advanced computational and machine‑learning methods to drive research and analytical projects.
• Design, implement and lead new research programs using multi‑omic, clinical and epidemiological datasets.
• Integrate and analyse multimodal data (genomics, metabolomics, imaging, electronic medical records) with state‑of‑the‑art deep‑learning techniques.
• Foster cross‑functional collaborations with faculty, research teams and institutional partners in Qatar and abroad.
• Coordinate joint initiatives with Cornell campuses, including the Englander Institute for Precision Medicine.

Required profile

• Ph.D. and/or M.D. with relevant post‑doctoral experience.
• Strong record of high‑impact publications as lead author.
• Consistent grant support from government or private funding agencies.
• Experience working with international consortia (e.g., DREAM challenges, ICGC, TCGA) is desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
