Senior Manager, Balance Sheet Management (Treasury ALM)

About the role

QNB, Qatar National Bank, is hiring a Senior Manager for Balance Sheet Management (Treasury ALM) in Qatar. The incumbent performs all balance sheet management activities in line with the Group's strategy, risk appetite, regulatory requirements and policies and procedures. The role is open to candidates applying for Qatarization.

Key responsibilities

• Shareholder and financial: comply with approved budgets, policies and procedures; implement KPIs and best practices; promote cost efficiency and productivity; act within delegated powers.
• Customer (internal and external): build relationships with related units, provide timely information to auditors, compliance and Group Risk, help customers with product queries, and meet SLAs with internal departments.
• Processes, products and regulatory: follow department strategies and policies, maintain MIS on profitability and revenue, coordinate transaction processing with Treasury Operations, prepare reports under the SVP's supervision, monitor gap positions and help structure balance sheet products.
• Legal, regulatory and risk: comply with AML/CTF, sanctions, data protection, fraud control, whistleblower and conflict of interest policies; apply the Three Lines of Defence and operational risk frameworks (RCSA, KRI, incident reporting); complete mandatory training and attend seminars.
• Other: protect confidential information, uphold professional standards and carry out ad hoc tasks requested by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in active dealing rooms, preferably in the Gulf.
• Excellent oral and written English and Arabic (preferred).
• Understanding of local laws, regulations and practices.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of derivatives and interest rate products.
• Understanding of hedging techniques in local currencies.
• Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work under market pressure.
