Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Reporting

About the role

Weill Cornell Medical College is looking for a Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Reporting in Doha. The role provides leadership with insights into financial planning, budgeting and KPI reporting, and oversees the preparation and accuracy of financial statements in line with statutory and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of the annual operating and capital budgets and the executive summary for finance leadership review
• Guide the budget liaison with internal stakeholders and lead the team on budget management and financial planning
• Develop and enhance templates and reports for reporting and reconciliations
• Analyse budget variances throughout the year and update forecasts
• Identify cost optimisation opportunities and advise leadership on budget adjustments
• Oversee monthly budget reconciliation and monitor the revenue cycle
• Ensure accounting transactions comply with organisational policy, financial regulations and accounting standards (US GAAP); review and approve reclassification and correction entries
• Oversee monthly and annual closing of accounting entries, including academic, research and grants accounts
• Prepare and present financial statements, quarterly reports, grants management reports and research packages
• Lead fiscal year-end and calendar year-end audits with internal and external auditors
• Manage intercompany transactions and the financial aspects of grants management
• Maintain accurate fixed asset records and use automation to streamline processes
• Oversee monthly KPI reporting and maintain finance policies and procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
• 11-12 years of related experience
• ACCA, CIMA, CPA-USA or similar qualification preferred
• Prior experience in research, medical or educational fields highly desirable
