Senior Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

Worley is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of building services for industrial and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on fire protection, water supply, and drainage systems, ensuring solutions are safe, compliant, and cost‑effective.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, foam, clean‑agent).
• Design domestic water supply (potable and non‑potable) and utility water for maintenance.
• Develop sanitary, storm‑water, oily‑water and condensate drainage networks.
• Perform fire‑water demand, hydraulic calculations and pipe‑sizing optimisations.
• Prepare design basis reports, calculations, specifications, schematics, layouts and detailed drawings.
• Produce equipment datasheets, technical documentation and fire‑protection engineering deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, ASHRAE, local civil‑defence regulations and MME accreditation.
• Coordinate with external utilities for water‑supply and drainage tie‑ins.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Mandatory MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation or willingness to obtain it during probation.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is an advantage.
• Extensive experience in building services engineering, specifically fire protection, water supply and drainage, within multi‑disciplinary industrial projects.

• Preparation of design basis reports, specifications and detailed drawings.
• Equipment datasheet creation and technical documentation.
