About the role
Wood is seeking a Senior Pipelines Engineer to join its Qatar team. You will work closely with designers and engineers, providing hands‑on support across major FEED projects and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality pipeline designs.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and supervise a team of pipeline engineers and designers.
- Translate Concept Selection Report information into detailed design specifications and FEED deliverables.
- Ensure correct standards are applied to all pre‑FEED/FEED/EPC documents for oil & gas, carbon capture, transportation and storage projects.
- Review third‑party design work and participate in HAZOP, HAZID, IPF, reliability studies and safety audits.
- Establish actual capacities of existing facilities, identify bottlenecks and propose optimisation.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies for pipeline applications.
- Develop local staff to meet engineering and supervisory requirements.
- Conduct life‑cycle cost analysis and prepare RFQ technical packages.
- Provide engineering, construction, material estimation, scheduling and resource planning for pipelines, risers, subsea manifolds and related systems.
Required profile
- Proven experience supervising pipeline engineers and designers on FEED/EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of HSE policies, ISO 14001 environmental standards and safety methodologies (HAZOP, HAZID, IPF, QRA, fire‑gas mapping).
- Ability to assess existing field facilities and recommend optimisation strategies.
- Experience delivering design for risers, subsea pipelines, landfalls, subsea manifolds and on‑shore pipelines.
- Familiarity with construction engineering and installation schemes.
