About the role
Gulf Business Development Group (GBDG), a Qatar-based organization delivering telecommunications and advanced technology products and services to government and private sector clients, is looking for a Senior Telecommunications Engineer in Doha. The engineer implements, installs, configures, tests, commissions, troubleshoots and maintains telecommunications systems supporting Oil & Gas operations, including onshore and offshore facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Implement, install, configure, test, commission and maintain telecom systems for Oil & Gas operations
- Troubleshoot and maintain systems on onshore and offshore facilities
- Supervise contractors, manage multiple project activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Review engineering deliverables, monitor progress and manage technical documentation and project handover
- Work on-site in Doha and at designated onshore and offshore facilities
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics or Communications Engineering, or an equivalent recognized technical qualification
- 7-10+ years of cumulative experience in telecommunications engineering within Oil & Gas, energy or industrial infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience in onshore/offshore brownfield projects, hook-up, commissioning and maintenance
- Experience supervising contractors and working with government entities or major enterprise clients in the Middle East is an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project and client requirements
Required skills
- Strong technical knowledge of voice and data infrastructure in enterprise or carrier environments
- Advanced troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, network configuration and technical support
- Familiarity with SAP, PTW, JSA and HSE requirements for Oil & Gas operations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills
