Senior Traffic Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead traffic and transport studies for major infrastructure and development projects in Qatar. You will work with multidisciplinary design teams and clients to develop data‑driven solutions that enhance network performance, safety, and mobility.

Key responsibilities

• Update and apply transport models and develop conceptual road designs for infrastructure and development projects.
• Carry out demand forecasting and transport model analysis to support traffic impact studies and multimodal assessments.
• Prepare traffic study reports and impact analysis reports for various road and development projects.
• Perform microsimulation modelling for road intersections, corridors, bus facilities, and development sites.
• Apply standard and advanced traffic engineering techniques to solve complex operational issues.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers and other project designers.
• Ensure all traffic engineering work complies with applicable standards, guidelines, and client requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Traffic/Transportation Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in traffic operations, traffic analysis, and transport planning studies, preferably in the Gulf region.
• Strong understanding of transport modelling, demand forecasting, and multimodal methodologies.
• Valid MME registration in Qatar.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with traffic and transport modelling software such as SYNCHRO, VISUM, VISSIM, and HCS.
• Experience conducting Traffic Impact Studies and traffic operational analysis.
• Knowledge of parking management, parking demand and supply analysis, and internal traffic circulation design.
• Familiarity with international traffic and transport standards, including the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM).
