Senior Windows System Administrator

About the role

An experienced Windows System Administrator is sought to ensure the stability, security and performance of the IT infrastructure. The role covers Windows servers, Active Directory, virtualization and storage, supports users, and maintains business continuity through backup and disaster recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and user accounts, and manage access rights, permissions and storage allocations.
• Install, configure, patch and upgrade hardware, operating systems and applications; monitor performance, availability and capacity.
• Maintain backup, disaster recovery and failover procedures.
• Manage virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) and develop PowerShell automation scripts.
• Ensure compliance with security standards, patch management and hardening; support Azure AD and Microsoft 365 where applicable.
• Coordinate hardware upgrades, liaise with vendors and keep accurate documentation.
• Train IT staff and end users on new technologies and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a Windows System Administrator or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-level servers and virtualization, and with secure, resilient infrastructure.
• Preferred certifications: MCSE, VCP, CompTIA Server+ / Security+, and hands-on experience with Symantec NetBackup and Veeam Backup.

• Networking basics (TCP/IP, VPN, LAN/WAN) and security practices; Azure AD and Microsoft 365 exposure is a plus
